OUR IDENTITY

Basketball has a long tradition in Corfu Island, but this concerned only the capital, since it’s where there is the only indoors sports facilities arena.

Our story begins in 2015, in the south of the island, when the Cultural Association of Neochori created the first Basketball Academy out of Corfu town. Later in 2017, the growing numbers in children’s participation along with the local community support, led to the formal creation of PEGASUS SOUTH CORFU B.C.. During our first year of operation we had 30 children, which today have surprisingly increased to more than 130!

Since our very beginning, we participated in all the official tournaments of our basketball union (ESKAVDE), resulting  great team and individual achievements of our talented young athletes.

Our open court, a small gem which we constantly try to upgrade, is located in Neochori Lefkimmi and hosts all of the team’s practices. Regarding our official games, they take place in indoors arena of Corfu town, which clearly shows the need of such facilities in our area. We were happy to see the State launching such a big project which will undoubtedly be a big chapter for our youth.
